Euroset shareholder not to purchase additional stake

22 December 2011

Russian telecommunications company VimpelCom has decided not to exercise its call option to raise its stake in mobile phone retailer Euroset by buying an additional 24.95% of the company's shares. VimpelCom has owned 49.9% of the retail group since October 2008 and had until January 2012 to make a decision on whether to increase its stake to 75%. VimpelCom commented that its partnership with Euroset will continue to be a substantial part of its distribution strategy in the Russian market.
