X5 Retail Group reportedly to go online in 2012

Russian grocery retailer X5 Retail Group will reportedly launch an e-commerce banner called E5 in the second half of 2012. The website would allow consumers to order goods online and pick them up in Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel stores. The company set up joint venture company IT Business in October 2009, which operated e-commerce www.bolero.ru (books and entertainment) and www.003.ru (household appliance and electronics). However, it sold its stake in May 2011.
