X5 Retail Group launches mobile network

X5 Retail Group has launched a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) based on the network of major cellular provider MTS, the group’s Corporate Relations Director Mikhail Susov said. SIM cards from MVNO are available at X5 Retail Group’s major outlets Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel. The retailer also plans to subscribe at least 500,000 active users to the MVNO within three years, Susov added. X5 Retail Group signed an agreement with MTS to create an MVNO in May 2010.
