REWE is continuing expansion in Russia

BIOP, retail chain that works in supermarket format in Russia, have opened two new shops in Dzerzhinsk city (the Nizhni Novgorod Region) recently. Aggregate investments were about 160 mln rubles for both supermarkets. Regional suppliers will have 40% share in supermarket’s goods, said Dimitar Peshev, CEO BIOP Russia.

The retail conglomerate REWE International AG has been working at the Russian market since 2004. In 2008 company opened first shop BIOP, 13 supermarkets BIOP have been working in Russia today. In 2008 Russian office REWE gained 250 mln euro.

BIOP expansion are going primarily through Moscow Region, but company is planning to go in Voronezh, Lipetsk, Belgorod, Kursk, Nizhni Novgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir.
