Carrefour has stopped activity in Russia

The French retailer Carrefour, largest in Europe and second-large in the world, has stopped activity in Russia: in four former Carrefour hypermarkets now are it’s competitors — Okey, Auchan and OBI. Since October, 2009 Carrefour tried to sell it’s Russian business, that is to transfer long-term lease agreements for €12-17 million. But finally Carrefour hasn’t managed to find the buyers, and premises owners rescind an agreements with Carrefour in advance.
