Subway plans expansion in Russia

19 November 2009

According to Reuters, Subway told participants of the Russian Agri-Food business forum that it has aggressive expansion plans for the Russian market, expecting to expand its network to 1,000 outlets by 2015. It currently has around 75 outlets in Russia and should have 100 by February. Subway is not the only international quick service player to view Russia as a key market for growth. It is McDonald’s fastest growing market in Europe, where it already has around 300 outlets and Burger King recently entered the country.
