Russia-based X5 Retail Group has opened its third Green Perekrestok premium supermarket, located in the shopping centre Smolensky Passage in Moscow. Having successfully tested Green Perekrestok in Rostov on Don and Moscow, the retailer has decided to develop this up market format in the future. After rebranding the first Perekrestok to Green Perekrestok, the average cheque increased 50%. Currently the average check is RUB700 (USD22.7). Prices in the stores are by 10-15% lower than by other premium formats like Azbuka Vkusa and Sedmoi Kontinent’s ***** (five stars), X5 reported.
